Russ Hofmann Treasurer, Point Brittany 5,
and the Point Brittany 5 Board of Directors
November 22, 2024 More than 3 years ago, the Porte Cochere at the main entrance of Point Brittany Building 5 had such severe damage that it had to be removed for the safety of our residents. Such a Porte was important to help protect building residents from falls or accidents related to rain, winds, and excessive heat. Since we had a building insurance policy with the Building 5 Board of Directors prepared and filed an insurance claim for funding to build a replacement structure. We tried to do everything right from the beginning and only wanted what was reasonable and fair. responded initially with a low settlement offer-about 2% of replacement cost. We then sought the assistance of Stone Building Solutions.
The claims procedure was tedious, and the process took more than 3 years, but the full replacement claim was recently approved. The Board of Directors for Building 5 recognizes that the ultimate resolution would not have been possible without the experience and assistance of Stone Building Solutions, especially Greg McMahon and Tara Stone. We offer hearty and earnest thanks for your skillful, persistent, and successful efforts to facilitate full payment of our Insurance claim.
As one added request to Stone, we ask you to thank the Insurance expert who completely reviewed our file, then followed a fair and just procedure and advised a replacement payment of the claim. He has renewed our faith in the insurance process. We were so worried we would not be able to fix our building.
Thank you, Stone Group, from the Board of Directors and the residents of our 134-unit building. Our entire community wants to personally thank you for helping us achieve the promise of insurance. Also, our management company, Resource Property Management, led by Karel Costa-Armas deserves much credit for advising us to work with Stone to facilitate settlement of the claim.
